The 2014 Carema is a wine of pure and total sensuality. Mulling spices, orange zest, mint, star anise, rosewater and wild cherry notes give the 2014 an exotic, beguiling aromatic complexity that is alluring. Beautifully layered on the palate, with striking depth and fabulous balance, the 2014 is just sublime. I loved it.I was quite frankly blown away by the wines I tasted from the Cantina Produttori Nebbiolo di Carema cooperative. CAREMA D.O.C. CLASSICO 2015: 

The 2015 Carema is gracious, perfumed and light on its feet. Rose petal, orange peel, licorice, sweet red cherry and mint are all beautifully lifted in this translucent, super-expressive Carema. Elements of wildness give the 2015 a bit of a rustic character, but I have to say, the purity of the fruit and the wine's sense of transparency are both incredibly appealing.

CAREMA D.O.C. RISERVA 2014: 

The 2014 Carema Riserva is richer and more powerful than the straight Carema, but in this vintage, the two wines aren't that different. While the Riserva offers plenty of punch, I find more sensuality and sheer appeal in the straight Carema. Dried cherry, mint, tobacco, licorice, chalk and white pepper add pretty top notes in this potent, resonant Carema.

CAREMA D.O.C. RISERVA 2015: 

The 2015 Carema Riserva is dark, powerful (for Carema) and also wonderfully appealing. Dried cherry, tobacco, smoke, licorice and dried herbs infuse the 2015 with tons of aromatic and flavor nuance. The 2015 also has quite a bit of mid-palate density and the persistence to drink well with just about anything. I find it incredibly appealing, and, frankly, a total knockout, breathtaking wine.
